Religious Education



The Resurrection/St. Joseph’s Religious Education Program is in place to help students grow in their faith and spirituality; to bring them into the community of faith, its life, worship, symbols, and practices; and to pass on a shared set of Catholic values.

PRAYER TIME: On the first Wednesday of every month
Prayer Time includes students from all grades. (Kindergarten –Grade 11).  Parents are also invited to attend.


Our sacramental programs include preparation for and celebration of First Reconciliation, First Eucharist, and Confirmation.


First Reconciliation
: At Resurrection/St. Joseph’s, the 2nd Grade religious education classes include preparation for First Reconciliation. after several months of preparation, candidates may celebrate the Sacrament for the first time in early December.

First Eucharist: At Resurrection/St. Joseph’s, the 2nd Grade religious education classes begin their preparation for First Eucharist after January 1.

NOTE: Preparation for these sacraments is also available for older students who did not celebrate First Communion during their 2nd Grade year. Please call for more information: 218-744-3305.

Confirmation: The Sacrament of Confirmation is celebrated in the spring of the 11th Grade year for those students who have completed the preparation process which includes an Overnight Diocesan Retreat, 15 hours of community service, and attendance at the Core Preparation Classes which all take place during the second half of the 11th Grade year. Also, students must have completed Religious Education classes during their 9th and 10th Grade years.
